Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong insists that his team-mates remain motivated despite their poor start to the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors have dropped five points after two games following an opening day defeat to Wafa and the weekend’s 2-2 stalemate with Medeama.
However, the defender believes they will secure maximum points against Ashantigold on Wednesday in Match day Two’s outstanding game at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“The motivation is not in doubt. Every player is feeling motivated. We’re not happy that we only have one point but I’m confident that against Ashanti Gold, we will secure all the three points,” Frimpong said.
“We will make sure we don’t disappoint this time around. Having just a point after two games wasn’t what we planned for so we are hoping to make amends,” he added.
Sports5050 understands that a defeat on Wednesday could spell the end of head coach David Duncan at the helm of the team amid growing calls for his ouster from a section of local supporters.
Kotoko are currently sitting 14th on the log with one point and six points behind leaders Wa All Stars.
