Fredrick “El General Okunka” Lawson also known as the “Baby Face Assassin” will be fighting Kevin Bizier of Canada in an a world title eliminator for the IBF Welterweight (147 lbs) number one position on November 7th, 2015 in Miami, Florida, USA.
We can also report that the winner between IBF number 6 rated Lawson and number 5 rated Bizier will automatically challenge for the IBF World Welterweight Championship next year.
Undefeated Lawson (24-0, 20 KOs), hopes to realise the chidlhood dream of fighting for the world championship by beating the Canadian Bizier (24-2, 16 KOs) whose two career defeats have come in his last five fights, both to Ionut Dan Ion.
The Ghanaian who is now based in Chicago, USA has been in camp in the Big Bear mountains since June training under the eagle supervision of Abel Sanchez (also trainer of Gennady Golovkin) and is keen to lift high the Ghana flag to the summit of boxing.
“Abel has helped me a lot to improve my skills and let me know what I am about. Abel has many years in the game so he has added to my spirit and to my life. I’m very glad I am able to work with him,” Lawson previously said of his highly revered trainer.
