Former Nigeria captain quits as Super Eagles coach

Sunday Oliseh has quit his role as the manager of the Nigerian football national team.
The former Nigeria international took to his Twitter handle to announce his resignation as head coach of the Super Eagles.

Oliseh says he made the decision due to lack of support, contract violation, unpaid wages for himself, coaching staff and benefits for his players.

General Secretary of the Nigerian Football Federation Dr. Mohammed Sanusi confirmed the former Nigeria national football team captain has left the coaching role of the Super Eagles telling SuperSport:

“Yes, we have received a letter from him and I can tell you he has resigned as coach of the national team [Super Eagles].

“I can tell you the content of the letter yet because we haven’t met to deliberate on it. We are in Zurich for the Fifa congress but as soon as we are through with the meeting, you will be in the know.”
