FCPPL Match day 19 Results and Stats

Liberty Professionals on Sunday fought from a goal down to defeat title holders Asante Kotoko 3-1 in Dansoman on match day 19 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League. Ahmed Toure opened the scores for visitors early on, before Latif Blessing leveled. Further strikes by Kennedy Ashia and Alfred Nelson in the second half sealed the points for Liberty Professionals.

League leaders Ashanti Gold thrashed B.A. United 4-1 in Obuasi to boost title hopes. Shafiu Mumuni converted a penalty to set the Miners on their way, with Bernard Morrison extending the lead. Francis Agyei made it 3-0 before Selorm Geraldo pulled one back for the visitors. Joshua Tijani then sealed victory for Bashir Hayford’s men.

Goals from Stephen Nyarko and Asuandze Baffoe saw Wa All Stars coast to a 2-0 win over Great Olympics in Wa, whilst Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies drew 0-0 in Accra.

Nathaniel Asamoah scored twice as Medeama thrashed Heart of Lions 4-1 in Tarkwa. Akwasi Donsu and Hans Kwofie also scored for the Yellow and Mauves, with Daniel Bonsu netting a consolation for the visitors.

Berekum Chelsea fought from a goal down to defeat Aduana Stars 2-1 in Berekum. Francis Larbi opened the scores for the visitors, but Stephen Baffour leveled with a penalty, before Kofi Owusu scored the winner against his former club.

Ernest Baffour netted a brace as Bechem United defeated New Edubiase United 3-1. Aminu Mohammed opened the scores before Baffour scored twice to extend the score to 3-0, with Bismark Idan scoring a late consolation.

Martin Antwi also scored twice as West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) thrashed Hasaacas 4-1 in Sogakope. Zakaria Mumuni and Richmond Lamptey gave WAFA a 2-0 lead, before Samuel Afful pulled one back for Hasaacas. Martin Antwi then scored twice to complete the rout.
