FCPPL Match day 18 Results and Stats

Hearts of Oak on Wednesday afternoon were beaten 2-0 by Wa All Stars in Wa on match day 18 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League. Abdul Ganiyu opened the scores with a spot kick, with Tetteh Lugard failing to stop the ball from entering the net by letting the ball slip through his hands. Emmanuel Ocran sealed the win with a strike in the second half.

Asante Kotoko defeated Great Olympics 3-2 in a thriller in Accra. Dauda Mohammed put the visitors ahead in the first half, but a defensive slip let in Edmund Sekyi to level. Ahmed Toure then had a penalty saved by Osei Boateng but scored from the resultant corner kick to put Asante Kotoko 2-1 up. Daniel Appiah restored parity for the hosts, but Toure scored again to seal three much needed points for the Porcupine Warriors, who lost their last two games.

League leaders Ashanti Gold were held to a 1-1 draw by Inter Allies in Tema. Bernard Morrison put the Miners ahead, but Eliasu Fuseini got the equalizer for the hosts.

Aduana Stars defeated Medeama SC 2-0 in Dormaa with goals from Abubakar Saddiq and Godfred Saka, whilst New Edubiase United drew 0-0 with Liberty Professionals in Obuasi.

B.A. United needed a late penalty by Francis Kyeremeh to secure a 1-1 draw with West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in Sunyani. The visitors had scored the game’s first goal through Zakaria Mumuni.

Daniel Bonsu came to the rescue of Heart of Lions as he scored to earn them a 1-1 draw with Bechem United in Kpando. Felix Kwakye had given the visitors the lead before Bonsu struck.

Hasaacas secured a 2-0 win over Berekum Chelsea in Sekondi to ease relegation fears. Defender Kingsley Agyei and midfielder Kojo Poku were on the scoresheet for the hosts.
