FCPPL Match day 16 Results and Stats

Heart of Lions on Sunday afternoon beat Asante Kotoko 3-1 in Kpando on match day 16 of the First Capital Plus Premier League. This was revenge for the 0-4 loss suffered in Kumasi at the end of the first round. Usman Muntaka gave Heart of Lions the lead in the first half, before goals by Isaac Quansah and Prince Acquah extended the lead to 3-0. Ahmed Toure converted a late penalty to pull one for the defending champions.

Wa All Stars stunned inform West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) 2-0 in Wa, with goals from Yakubu Wadudu and Stephen Nyarko, whilst a solitary strike by Samuel Afful gave Hasaacas a 1-0 win over Bechem United in Sekondi.

Inter Allies was held to a 1-1 draw by Berekum Chelsea in Tema. Sherriff Deo Mohammed had given the hosts the lead, but Inter Allies paid for a hatful of missed chances after Latif Salifu came off the bench to score the leveler.

New Edubiase United and Great Olympics battled to a 0-0 draw in Obuasi and it was the same score line between Aduana Stars and Liberty Professionals in Dormaa.

There were riotous scenes at the Sunyani Coronation Park after B.A. United’s 1-1 draw with Medeama SC. Mustapha Mohammed opened the scores for the hosts, but Jacob Apau Asiedu leveled for the visitors. Angry home supporters held the match officials hostage for some time before they were allowed to leave the stadium.

The match between Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Gold will take place on Wednesday June 10, after Hearts of Oak battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday with Esperance in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup in Accra.
