FCPPL Match day 15 Results and Stats

Asante Kotoko on Wednesday afternoon thrashed Heart of Lions 4-0 in Kumasi to finish the first round of the season on a high note. Ahmed Toure converted a penalty and Prince Baffoe quickly put the Porcupine Warriors 2-0 up. Two quick second half goals by Abdul Latif Amadu and Emmanuel Asante completed the rout.

League leaders Ashanti Gold dropped further points after a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak in Obuasi. Didier Kore had put the hosts in the lead but a late equalizer by midfielder Emmanuel Laryea stole a point for Hearts of Oak.

Aduana Stars failed to take advantage of Ashanti Gold’s dropped points after a 0-1 loss to Liberty Professionals at Dansoman, with Charles Dwamena on target.

West Africa Football Africa (WAFA) drew 0-0 with Wa All Stars in Sogakope to move to second on goal difference but four points adrift of the top.

Nathaniel Asamoah netted a brace as Medeama SC came from a goal down to beat B.A. United 3-1 in Tarkwa. Moses Owusu opened the scores for the visitors before Asamoah leveled. Kwame Boahen put the Yellow and Mauves 2-1 up, before Asamoah sealed the points with his personal second goal.

Bechem United lifted themselves out of relegation trouble with a 2-0 win over Hasaacas in Bechem, with Yaw Andoh bagging a brace.

Richard Kingson conceded for the first time this season as Great Olympics was held to a 2-2 draw by New Edubiase United. Bernard Ofori put the visitors ahead and Great Olympics got a great chance to level scores after the award of a penalty, but Dan Quaye fired over the crossbar. Emmanuel Amartey eventually scored the equalizer, but Ofori restored New Edubiase United’s lead by firing through Kingson’s legs. Kwame Boateng eventually scored the equalizer to steal a point for Great Olympics.

Berekum Chelsea fought from a goal down to beat Inter Allies 2-1 in Berekum. Niare Benogo opened the scores for the visitors, but Kofi Owusu leveled, before Richard Adjei scored the winning goal.
