FCPPL Match day 12 Results and Stats

Ashanti Gold’s title charge suffered a set back after a 0-1 loss to relegation threatened B.A. United in Sunyani on match day 12 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League.

Selorm Geraldo scored the game’s only goal to give B.A. United only its third victory of the season.

Substitute Gockel Ahortor smashed in a screamer in injury time to hand Inter Allies a 2-1 win over Hearts of Oak in Tema.

Ahortor had come on for Sherrif Deo Mohammed, who had been well marked by the Hearts of Oak defence.

Ropapa Mensah capitalized on a defensive mix up between Philip Boampong and Tetteh Lugard to score the game’s opening goal midway through the second half.

Isaac Oduro equalized seven minutes from time through a well taken freekick, before Ahortor spotted Lugard off his line and fired home a dramatic winner for Inter Allies.

Defending champions Asante Kotoko defeated Liberty Professionals 1-0 in Kumasi in David Duncan’s first game in charge of the club at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Ahmed Toure struck as early as the third minute and even though both teams battled well, the score line stayed the same at full time.

Aduana Stars secured a 2-1 win over Berekum Chelsea in Dormaa, with Richard Arhin netting a brace and Samuel Kyere hitting the target for the visitors.

By dint of a Disciplinary Committee decision against Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars were however awarded a 3-0 win pending the outcome of an appeal launched by the 2011 champions.

Osman Sackey scored his first goal of the season as Heart of Lions defeated Medeama Sc 1-0 in Kpando. The result sees Heart of Lions level on points with Aduana Stars; three points behind leaders Ashanti Gold.

Veteran midfielder Lamine Nasir scored his first goal of the season to put New Edubiase United 1-0 up against Bechem United in Obuasi. Club captain Fuseini Nuhu added a second in the second half to secure all three points for the hosts.

Hasaacas returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over West Africa Football Academy in Sekondi. Zakaria Mumuni opened the scores to put the visitors up, before Ibrahim Suleman leveled for Hasaacas. Defender Daniel Egyin converted a penalty to put Hasaacas 2-1 up and Frederick Quayson’s goal secured all three points for the hosts.

On Saturday, an Agbeshie Dotsie goal gave Great Olympics a 1-0 win over Wa All Stars.
