Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has hailed the quality of players in the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League despite claims that the competition lack quality talents.
Asante Kotoko’s monopoly of the league came to an end this season after Ashanti Ashanti Gold dethroned them to the crown to win their first league title in 19 years.
And Konadu who led Kotoko to win the Ghana league in 2012 before taking up the position of deputy coach of the senior national team, says, the quality of the GPL cannot be underrated.
“There are a lot of quality players in the league. The only challenge is that most of them are not in one place but for quality we have them in the league,” the former Wa All Stars boss told Citi FM
Spectatorship is cause to worry in the Ghana premier league, but Konadu says it is a general problem on the continent of Africa.
“The issue of spectatorship is a problem of Africa not only Ghana but I guess it will improve as we go on.”
