Exclusive: Malam Yaya Calls For Muntari’s Black Stars Return

Ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, ex-Black Stars midfielder and former coach of King Faisal Babies football club, Malam Yaya has called on new management committee of the Black Stars to do everything possible to bring back Sulley Muntari into the Black Stars as he will be a great asset to the team during the upcoming 2015 Afcon in Equitorial Guinea.

Sulley Muntari was dismissed from the Black Stars camp before the Ghana/Portugal game during the 2014 World Cup for exchanging blows with Management Committee member, Moses Armah Parker and has since not returned to the Black Stars.

According to Malam Yaya, Suey Muntari might be misunderstood by a lot of people and that his conduct should not be the basis for getting him out of the team if he can only perform on the field of play.

In an exclusive interview with sportscrusader.com, Malam Yaya said, “Sulley has been one of the greatest players for the Black Stars since 2004.

“I don’t think Sulley will have to play for more than two years for the Black Stars again. So for me, it is better to let things go and bring him to help Ghana win the Afcon. That is what we are hungry for.

“If you look at what happened in Brazil, nobody will ever say Sulley’s action was justified but he is a human being. We must all look at it like that. Did he just act that way or he was forced to act that way? So for me, the new management should try to settle the issue between Sulley and Moses Parker and get the boy back into the team. Ghana needs him”. He added.

Malam Yaya is currently pursuing his UEFA Licence A certificate after getting his UEFA Licence B certificate in Germany.
