The former Kotoko and Black Stars player has stated thatOpoku Nti should relinquish his position as the General Manager of Asante Kotoko due to his inability to invest in the club.
The 23 times Ghana league champions have had a poor start to the season and until last week Sunday, lying bottom of the league ladder. The Management sacrificed the head coach David Duncan by asking him to step aside for Michael Osei, the assistant coach to take charge of the technical bench.
The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who happens to be the owner of Kotoko over the week met with all stakeholder in an attempt to resolve the crisis that has hit the club.
Despite management decision to blame the head coach, a section of the fans believe the Opoku Nti’s management team is not up to the task of leading Kotoko to the dream land and have threatened to demonstrate against his continued stay in office.
Sarfo Gyamfi, popularly known in football cycles as the ‘Black President’, former team mate of Opoku Nti has added his voice to the crisis that has hit his club Kumasi Asante Kotoko, by sharing the same sentiment of the supporters that Opoku Nti must leave.
“If Opoku Nti doesn’t have the finances to run Kotoko then he should leave for someone who can inject some funds into the club and also has the needed managerial skills to take over. That is how the Kotoko job is.
“He can join us to all help from behind the scenes,” Sarfo Gyamfi told Happy FM
