Eric Opoku crowned best player of the season

The champions, Ashgold swept away most of the awards on the night including the most valuable player of the season which went to Eric Opoku for his incredible performance during the season.

Ashgold coach Bashiru Hayford emerged as the coach of the while CEO Kudjo Fianoo won the CEO of the season category with the club also named as Best Behaved supporting group.

Other award winners on the night included Inter Allies’ Baba Mensah named as defender of the year while Wa All Stars goalie Richard Ofori got the goalkeeper of the season.

The occasion was grazed by Nana Agyemang Badu II, the Omanhene of the Dormaa traditional area as the special guest of honour and the chairman of the occasion was Ernest Thompson former Hearts of Oak board secretary, who is now the Executive Director of SSNIT.

Mr. Thompson made a personal donation of $1,000 to the best player of the season and also another $1,000 to the referee of the season.
