Emmanuel Tagoe’s fight against Jose Saez has been shifted forward two months.
Tagoe, famously nicknamed Game Boy was scheduled to face the Argentine nicknamed Pamperito at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London in what would have been his UK debut on August 29 but the date has changed.
The venue remains the same but the boxer managed by Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan would have to wait for October 23 to finally fight in the England capital.
The promoters have yet to declare the real reason for the postponement but sources close to the boxer have told Allsports.com.gh that Tagoe suffered an injury in training and would need some few weeks to get healed hence the need for the fight to be rescheduled.
Tagoe is currently rated number 9 Lightweight by the WBA and is looking for victory over Saez in their international 12-round contest to put himself in line for a shot at the Interim world as his BabyJet Promotions team target the world title by early next year.
The Ghanaian showman previously held the Ghana Featherweight, WBO Africa Super Featherweight, IBF Intercontinental both Featherweight and Super Featherweight as well as WBA International titles at both Super Featherweight and Lightweight (twice).
Argentia’s Jose Saez also has oodles of championship experience, being the former interim WBC Latino Super Bantamweight Champion, as well as having challenged for numerous accolades, IBF International, WBO Inter-Continental, WBO Latino and the WBA-NABA Super Bantamweight titles.
