Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu finally made a return from injury to play for Feyenoord as they posted a 5-2 away win over Excelsior Rotterdam on Saturday evening.
The 21-year-old Dutch-born climbed off the bench in the 68th minute to replace Jean-Paul Boëtius as he ended a three week spell on the sidelines.
Manu had not played since picking a hamstring injury during training in early November.
He was slated to return last weekend for Feyenoord’s game against PSV Eindhoven but the game was postponed.
Manu has scored 2 league goals in 12 games for Feyenoord and provided as many as 6 assists.
Ghana has officially written to FIFA – world’s football governing body, for nationality switch for the attacker who has expressed his readiness to play for the African giants.
Manu has represented the Netherlands at youth level but is determined to play for Ghana where both of his parents come from.
