Chief Executive Officer of Champion Divine Clinic and a die-hard fan of Asante Kotoko Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has stated that the current coach of the Kumasi based club, David Duncan is not a top class coach hence his decision to personally foot the bills of a coach he is bringing on board.
Over the week, Danish tactician, Tomas Muller Nielsen was brought into the country by Dr. Kwaku Frimpong to head the technical directorate of the club, a move according to reports was rejected by the management of Asante Kotoko led by Opoku Nti.
Coach Duncan took over the reign of Kotoko after the sacking of Didi Dramani after eight league games and the former Hearts of Oak and Ashgold’s trainer managed to propel the Porcupine Warriors to the FA Cup final but they lost 1-2 to Medeama and also ended the season 6th position on the league log, meaning the Kumasi giants went trophyless for the first time in 3 years.
However, due to how Asante Kotoko ended the season, a concerned supporter of the club, who is a member of the club’s committee formed to champion the course Kotoko in Africa, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong believes that in order for the former premier league champions reclaim the league title they lost to Ashgold they must argument their technical department adding that coach Duncan is not a top notch coach.
“Because we were being ridiculed by the public concerning Kotoko’s performance, I personally brought in a new a coach to replace Duncan of which I was ready to pay for his salaries. We want the best so we have to go in for first class coach, Duncan cannot help the situation,” Dr. Kwaku Frimpong told Kasapa fm.
