Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mas-ud Didi Dramani has told Sportscrusader.com that he is not one who believes in setting targets, but was quick to add that, he has intentions of defending the league trophy he won with the Porcupine Warriors last year.
Asante Kotoko won the league for the third consecutive season after coach Maxwell Konadu won it in the 2011/12 season. Didi has since won the trophy on two consecutive occasions and has hinted that he will want to make it a hat trick by winning it for the fourth time.
In an interview with sportscrusader.com, Didi hinted that even though he does not set targets for his players, he is sure of defending the trophy he won last year.
“I don’t set targets for my players but looking at the upcoming league, we can still defend the trophy we have won three times so far. It is obviously going to be harder than the two previous seasons I won the trophies because most clubs have had the opportunity to prepare well because of the long break. It has also become normal for every club to play it harder against Kotoko and that alone must tell you why it will be very challenging for us but we have what it takes to defend the title”, Didi said.
“Again, we shall be competing in the Africa Champions League as well as playing FA Cup matches and the Elite Competition, but with the current team we have and with the arrival of the new ones, I am optimistic that we shall defend the title”, he added.
Didi Dramani was named the best coach after last season’s FA Cup competition as well as the Premier League Board’s coach of the 2013/14 league season.
