Debut call for Assifuah and Salifu

Sion forward Ebenezer Assifuah has landed a debut call up to the Black Stars for Ghana’s impending friendlies against Senegal and Mali in France.

Assifuah was the top scorer at the 2013 World Youth Cup in Turkey and he scored a total of nine goals for the Black Satellites in competitive games in 2013.

Also landing a first ever Black Stars call up is Club Africain midfielder Seidu Salifu, who was also with Assifuah in Turkey with the Black Satellites.

He landed the move to Tunisia after a sterling performance at the 2013 World Youth Cup.

Black Stars head coach Avram Grant has taken the decision to rest team captain Asamoah Gyan and so the Al Ain striker was not named in the squad due to a slight injury.

Grant also left out Ernest Sowah but called up Razak Braimah and Fatau Dauda for the two games.

Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp, who missed the cut for the 2015 African Nations Cup, makes a return to the team, with the rest of the squad all present in Equatorial Guinea where Ghana finished second.
