African 4x100m relay silver medalist and Western Kentucky University (WKU) student Emmanuel Dasor blazed to new heights with an impressive 46.58(PB) clocking to snatch victory in the 400m at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday which bested his previous personal best of 47.76 he ran last year. His new PB ranks fourth in WKU’s history, first in Conference USA and 22 in the USA this season.
The former T. I. Ahmadiya student also won the 200m final in 20.85 which ranks second in the league, before helping WKU’s 4×400 relay team also to victory.
While many have known him for his sprinting prowess during his schools days in Kumasi, his latest achievement in the 400m would give Team Ghana a lot of hope in the men’s 4x400m relay.
This comes after another Ghanaian 400m runner Daniel Gyasi ran a personal best 46.30 over the weekend while another US based Ghanaian athlete Solomon Afful has also made a bright start to his career in the States.
Interestingly enough, the three athletes teamed up with Tim Abeyie to win silver in the 4x100m relay at the 2014 CAA African Championship in Marrakech, Morocco.
It is early days yet but the prospects look good ahead of the 2015 World Champs and the All African Games in Congo-Brazzaville.
