Ahead of his return to club football following Euro 2016 success with Portugal despite a knee injury, Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a video on his Instagram page telling fans he will come back stronger.
While not much was expected from the Selecao this summer, Ronaldo was able to inspire his country to an unlikely victory in France, despite being forced off in the first half of the final against the hosts.
The 31-year-old will not be fit for the UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla on August 9, but he is remaining upbeat as he steps up his recovery.
“A big hug to my fans and tell them everything is fine, I’ll come back stronger. Viva Portugal,” Ronaldo said.
With a tough La Liga campaign in store for Los Blancos, they start their challenge for the title with a difficult game against Real Sociedad at the Estadio Anoeta.
