Cristiano Ronaldo ended his early season goal drought in spectacular fashion, hitting a first-half hat-trick for Real Madrid at Espanyol in La Liga.
Ronaldo’s barren spell, stretching back all of two goals, was put to bed when he struck his first goals of the season at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat.
The hat-trick put him level with Raul as Real’s all-time highest scorer in Liga history with over an hour remaining to break the record.

He has scored 228 games in just 203 games. Raul needed 550 games to reach the same mark.
The Portuguese found the net on 7, 17 and 20 minutes, before Karim Benzemaadded a fourth shortly afterwards.
