Ghana FA media officer Ibrahim Saanie Daara has revealed that Black Stars coach Avram Grant is funding the construction of a school block in central region city Winneba.
“Avram Grant is doing a lot of things for the country aside coaching. He is not leaving charity to just the players,” Daara told Happy FM.
“He is putting up a school building for the people of Winneba,” he revealed.
Grant replaced Kwesi Appiah in 2014 in a three-year deal and led the Black Stars to finish as runners-up to Cote d’Ivoire, who won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations held in Equatorial Guinea early this year.
Sports5050 understands that Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan spent close to $400,000 on charity in 2015.
Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was also reported to have made donations in kind and cash to his former youth club, Friends Babies FC in Cape Coast.
