Ex-Ghana captain CK Akunnor has advised his successor Stephen Appiah to consider coaching after the former Juventus star announced his retirement on Wednesday.
Appiah has called time on a glittering career at age 33 but did not state his next move.
Akunnor, who acquired his coaching badges after his playing career and handled Ghanaian sides Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak, wants Appiah to follow in his footsteps.
The former Wolfsburg captain wants Appiah to impart the next generation of footballers in the country.
“The journey is over so he must look for something else to do, he should get involved in the game but I don’t think he will be away from it,” Akunnor told Joy FM .
“I heard him talk about coaching which I’m happy about because he will bring a lot on table with his experience.
“As a former player if he is on the pitch I know he will help the young ones who have been looking up to him all this years.”
