Brendan Rodgers: Mario Balotelli finished at Liverpool

Mario Balotelli has no future at Liverpool, according to Brendan Rodgers.

Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique have apparently been told they can leave Anfield with Italy forward Balotelli told he must depart to find a regular game.

Balotelli scored only four goals from 28 appearances in all competitions after joining Liverpool from Milan for £16m a year ago.

“He (Balotelli) clearly knows his situation and where he’s at,” said Rodgers ahead of his side’s meeting with Bournemouth at Anfield on Monday night.

“There’s nothing to add. All of the players understand where they’re at.

“My job is to create the best possible environment for the team to succeed. That’s what I’ve always done. So I’m not going to speak about Mario when I can speak about another 25 players.

“I’ll always treat individuals with respect and try to make sure they understand the situation, where they’re at – it’s then their choice.

“If the manager and the club give a player a situation, if they really want to play, I’m sure they’ll find a solution. If they don’t, then at least they know where they stand.”

Balotelli’s former Italy team-mate Antonio Cassano has apparently sent several messages to the forward urging him to join Sampdoria.

Balotelli is apparently earning £4.25m-a-year at Anfield, a salary that may prove a stumbling block in his bid to find a new club.

“Patience and result will arrive soon. Believe me or not! What you guys doing?,” said Balotelli on Twitter.
