BREAKING: Victor Valdes ‘agrees terms with Besiktas’

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has agreed terms withBesiktas, according to media reports.

The Spain international, who moved to Old Trafford on a 18-month contract in January 2015, also had an offer from Antalyaspor.

A public spat with manager Louis van Gaal has left Valdes surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, with the Dutchman claiming the former Barcelona stopper refused to play for the reserves.

While Valdes took to Twitter to deny those claims, Van Gaal, who promoted him from Barca’s third to first-choice 13 years ago, was adamant that the keeper would not play for United again.

Valdes had been tipped by many to replace David De Gea as United’s No 1 this season, but, after he was dropped from United’s tour of the United States, Van Gaal elected not to give him a squad number this season.
