The reigning French champions moved three points clear of Lyon at the top of the table on Sunday, but the coach says he is just focused on his side’s performances
Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc claims he has not been thinking about the Ligue 1 title, insisting his primary concern is on his side maintaining their desire and fine form.
The reigning French champions triumphed 2-0 at Nantes on Sunday thanks to goals from Edinson Cavani and Blaise Matuidi to restore their three-point advantage over Lyon at the top of the table with just three rounds remaining.
Blanc claimed afterwards, though, that he has put all thoughts of the title race out of his mind in recent weeks.
“I do not know if PSG will retain their trophy, as I’ve not been thinking about it,” the World Cup winner toldCanal Plus. “I want to maintain the desire to play.
“I’m satisfied overall because we played well and it has kept this philosophy of wanting to play.
“I’m pleased with the result, but we know that we can create offensive situations better than we did today.
“We must remain vigilant, but also be aware that we are in good form. We must continue on at this pace.”
PSG next face Guingamp at the Parc des Princes on Friday, while second-placed Lyon travel to Caen 24 hours later.
