The senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars will not train on Tuesday if conditions at the Accra Sports Stadium do not change according to captain of the side Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan speaking to journalists after the first day of training on Monday disclosed the senior national team players nearly called off the training session due to the uncut grass on the football pitch.
The training on Monday had to be limited to a small part of the football pitch as other parts were completely not in shape for the training session.
Gyan said after the first training ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros on Friday:
“We didn’t even want to train. I don’t think it’s good to train on a pitch like this.
“If the field is going to be like this tomorrow, then I am sorry we cannot train here tomorrow. We are all professionals and we will sit down with the technical team and decide where to train.”
Green Grass Technology, a company contracted to keep the football pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium in good condition left the pitch in that poor state because of unpaid arrears from the Sports Ministry.
