Black Stars arrive in Tamale for Uganda clash

The Black Stars arrived in Tamale on Wednesday morning ahead of Friday’s opening 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda.

Coach Avram Grant’s players were met on arrival at the by local football fans who thronged the airport to welcome the team.

All 23 players who were invited by the coach for the game against the Cranes were present.

This follows the overnight arrival of Adam Kwarasey, Jeff Schlupp and Thomas Partey who missed the first day of training on Tuesday.

The trio arrived from their bases in Europe on Tuesday night and were part of the team in Tamale.

Captain Asamoah Gyan and stand – in deputy captain Emmanuel Agyemang Badu led the players in prayers on arrival at the airport.

They were welcomed to the city by the Northern Region FA chairman Abu Abdullahi  and his other top executives.

Local football fans riding on motorbikes created a good atmosphere around the team as the team bus made its way to the team.

Coach Grant changes his programme to allow for the players to rest this afternoon before the training at 4pm at the Tamale Sport Stadium.

The Black Stars have arrived in Tamale to play where they will face the Ugandans in the opening match of the Group E.
