Berekum Chelsea skipper, Latif Salifu says he is to commit his future to Accra Hearts of Oak, insisting that he is rather in advanced talks with the Phobians.
The attacker’s discloser to the Graphic Sports on Tuesday is in stark contrast to claims by Hearts that they had concluded a three-year deal with the slippery striker.
“Everything you have heard about the Hearts deal is true. However, we are in advanced talks and I have not signed yet,” said Latif, who scored four goals in the just-ended First Capital Plus Premier League campaign.
The former Liberty Professionals attacker added he was not sure when the talks would be concluded but was looking forward to continue his career with Hearts.
Increasingly, the Managing Director of Hearts, Gerald Ankrah, insisted that they had signed the player although he was yet to undergo medical.
“We have completed everything with the player, it is left with only the medical to make the deal official,” Mr. Ankrah told Graphic Sports on phone on Tuesday.
Latif, 25, made a successful return from a career threatening anterior cruciate ligament injury last year to play a vital role in Chelsea’s third-place finish in the 2014-15 First Capital Plus Premier League.
