Berekum Chelsea coach praise team after AshGold clash

Berekum Chelsea coach Solomon Odwo has praised his players following their goalless draw with defending champions Ashantigold at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.

Chelsea were without a point after two games, losing to Techiman City in their opener and going down 2-0 at home to Wa All Stars on Match day Two.

“I think it’s not bad at all after picking just a point,” Odwo said. “It was a tough game and Ashanti Gold needed a win seriously after their elimination from the Caf Champions League to M.O Bejaia in Algeria. However, my boys were serious and determined and like I told them earlier, our worst of a result must be a draw which we achieved it.

“You know when you are playing an away game it’s quite different and I can say that my boys have done very well,” he added.

Odwo still believes that he needs to work on his squad since majority of them are playing their debut season.

“Chelsea have a lot of young players and most of them have not played in the premier before so you could see we still have a lot of work to do with these boys. I need to put in a lot of efforts to get the best of results from them in our subsequent matches.”

Chelsea will host Asante Kotoko on match day four at the Golden City Park in Berekum on March 13.
