Basigi blames poor preseason for Hasaacas woes

Sekondi Hasaacas coach Yusif Basigi has admitted that his charges had a poor pre-season which has seen them struggle to contain opponents’ strikers in games.

The club currently has the worse defence after three games following a 3-0 away drubbing in Wa against All Stars on opening day, before struggling to beat debutants Techiman City FC 4-2.

However, they recorded their heaviest away defeat in almost a decade when Wafa hammered them 5-0 last weekend in Sogakope.

“We had a poor pre-season and that has resulted in our worst start to the season,” Basigi toldWest-Gold radio.

“This is not the start any coach would want for his club but the technical team will sit up. We will do proper match reviews to find out ways to avoid such shortfalls in the team,” he added.

Hasaacas are 12th on the log with three points and will host title holders Ashanti Gold next weekend on match day four.

Sports5050 understands that the players and technical team are still being owed arrears of seven months dating back to last season.
