Sekondi Hasacaas coach Yusif Basigi has revealed that his star striker Samuel Afful could join Asante Kotoko if they offer an interesting proposal.
Afful, who celebrated his 20th birthday last week at Fathers Children’s Home in Sekondi, has been reported to be on the verge of joining the Porcupine Warriors after being assured he could play in the Caf Champions League once the Kumasi-based team return to the continental scene.
However, his coach has rubbished the news, insisting that he will only be transferred if a good offer is received.
“It’s all about money [from Kotoko] that will help them sign Samuel Afful but not really about the exposure they will give to him,” Basigi told Aseda FM.
“Afful is a national team player and has got the experience so it’s not really about exposure he will have when he joins Kotoko. It’s about money.” he added.
Sports5050 understands some foreign clubs willing to invite Afful for a trial with the hope of landing a deal.
Afful became the club’s joint top scorer with Fredrick Quayson last season after scoring four goals each.
He was a member of the Ghana U20 squad that played in the 2015 African Youth Championship but he could not make the final squad to represent Ghana later in the World Youth Championship.
