Ashantigold coach Hayford Bashiru has committed his future to the Premier League champions by putting pen to paper on a new three-year contract extension, according to club chief executive officer Kudjo Fiaano
Bashiru guided the Miners to win their first league title in almost two decade since arriving at Lenclay Stadium in 2013.
His performance has been awarded by the club’s top hierarchy ahead of their participation in the 2015-16 Caf Champions League.
“We’ve renewed the contract of Hayford to appreciate of his awesome work last season,” Fianoo told Nhyira FM .
“The contract is three years not two years as reported by several media outlets. He has done so far well with the club and we believe he will take us to higher heights in the upcoming season especially in the Caf Championship League,” he added.
Ashantigold amassed 52 points last season to finish top of the table, four above regional rivals Asante Kotoko.
Goal understands that the board of directors of the club have approved $1 million as the budget for preparations ahead of the Caf Champions League.
