Coach Bashiru Hayford believes that his instructions which were adhered to by the playing body of Ashgold contributed immensely to the team’s ability clinch the First Capital Plus Premier League, with a game to end the season.
The former Kotoko and Medeama coach has won many plaudits for guiding Ashgold to win the GPL, especially the way and manner he discovered some quality talents, who until this season hadn’t tasted any premier league football before and ended up gaining regular place in his team, namely Osei Baffour, Kadiri Mohammed and Amos Addai.
Despite Bashiru Hayford’s technical knowhow, he thinks his players were very good learners, because they played according to his instruction during the season.
“My players played to my instructions. A good teacher will excel when he has good learners and that is what my players were in the course of the season,” he told Obuasi based O FM.
Ashgold, the runaway league champions will face Olympics in Accra on match day 30 to wrap up on the 2014-15 league season.
