BA United’s return season back into the Ghana top flight has ended in relegation with four matches still left for them, it is official.
The Brong Ahafo Region side were sent packing following Wednesday’s comprehensive 5-0 whitewash by Heart of Lions in Kpando which confirmed that they cannot catch up with none of the sides still in the relegation zone even with 12 points still on offer.
BA United stay on their 18 points from now 26 games and even if they win all four remaining games, the Apostles of Power Soccer can only amass a maximum of 30 points, two short of the 32 currently accumulated by next to bottom, Hearts of Oak and 14th spot, Great Olympics who have 33.
It sums up a disgraceful season for the former hotshots of Ghana football who changed coaches three times, fell out with their Chairman and had their players even accused by their own coach, Gargo Mohammed of betting on their league games. Gargo of course lasted the shortest stint in Ghanaian league history following his dismissal after just one game in charge.
Lions meanwhile, save their blushes and maintain their quest to survive the scare of relegation, albeit still only a point above the drop zone on 34 points with Great Olympics and Hearts of oak hot on their heels with a mere four matches to go for all teams.
Lions next continue their push for survival away to Sekondi Hasaacas when the already relegated BA United host also relegation threatened, New Edubiase in Sunyani.
