Ayariga confirms Gov’t will help GBC secure AFCON broadcast rights

With only 48 hours to the start of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, no local television station will be able to broadcast live the upcoming tournament which is been hosted by Equatorial Guinea.

Sources close to Sportscrusader.com have hinted that government owned television Station, Ghana Television GTV is struggling to raise over $50, 000 needed to buy the broadcasting rights.

The Minister of Youth and Sports in an exclusive interview with sportscrusader.com says top officials from Ghana Television have approached him to intervene.

“I have been approached by officials from GTV concerning the broadcasting rights, I cannot take a decision on my own so I will have to talk to the appropriate authorities to see if indeed we can intervene.

“It is complicated as it stands, we are not promising, but we will try our maximum best to see if something positive can come out of this”
