The National Chapters Committee (NCC) has named its chairman, Barima Atuahene, to replace Alhaji Akambi a former NCC chairman after the board informed the supporters’ wing of the club to nominate someone to join the board on its ticket.
Tension began to mount up in the Phobians camp, following a statement by the board chairman of the club, Togbe Afede XIV that the slot of the Supporters on the board couldn’t be guaranteed.
He indicated that the shareholders at the time of constituting the board under his leadership decided to nominate someone from the supporters and it happened to be the chairman of the NCC at the time (Alhaji Akambi), but they didn’t give him term of office.
This was seen as a snub of the elected chairman of the Supporters group (NCC), Barima Atuahene.
However the board after a second look has listened to the calls of the Hearts of Oak faithful, giving the National Chapters Committee the opportunity to name Barima Atuahene, the chairman of the supporters group to replace Alhaji Akambi, a former chairman of the NCC.
The official announcement will be made in due course.
