Christian Atsu was voted man of the match by Everton after a cameo that saved the Toffees a point at Leicester City.
It looked Roberto Martinez’s side were heading for another disappointing Premier League day after going down 2-0 at the Goodison Park thanks to goals from Cambiasso and David Nugent but the introduction of the pacy Ghanaian turned the tide of the game.
Atsu’s delicious ball was headed by Lukaku onto a helpless Matthew Upson to save the blushes of the home side.
“We were playing for a win and wanted our fans to be happy but it could’t happen like that and we are hoping we will make them happy in the next game.”
The tricky winger on loan from Chelsea also admitted his excellent form at the AFCON where he was voted player of the tournament and also scored the goal of the tournament had given him a new found belief in himself.
“I came here to put a smile on the faces of the fans and at the start things were not going well but after the AFCON I’m feeling confident to give my best to Everton. For me it is great achievement and I thank God for that. It is a big encouragement to my football career and i hope i can carry on like this.”
