Ghana winger Christian Atsu was named the best player for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Atsu was handed the Orange player of the competition award minutes Ghana lost the final to Ivory Coast, Sunday night in Bata.
Goalkeeper Boubacar Barry scored the decisive goal as Ivory Coast ended a 23-year Africa Cup of Nations title drought by winning 9-8 on penalties after the final ended 0-0 following extra time.
Ghana adopted a more adventurous approach and came tantalisingly close to taking the lead on 25 minutes through Christian Atsu.
The pacey winger won possession just outside the box and his swerving shot eluded the diving Barry only to rebound to safety off the post.
Atsu started each of Ghana’s six games and finished the tournament with two goals.
Atsu also picked another prize for his impressive performance, winning the Nissan Goal of the tournament for his magnificent strike in Ghana’s 3-0 win over Guinea during the group stages.
