First Capital Plus Bank Premier League champions, Ashanti Gold coach Bashir Hayford has promised the country his side will not disappoint Ghanaians when they take the stage in the CAF Champions League to represent Ghana.
Bashir Hayford led the Miners to win their first premier league title in 19 years, and he is hopeful they will not only be domestic champions, but will display the kind of football that won the league in Africa when CAF inter-club football competition starts.
“We are going to Africa; and we are going to display the quality Ghana football is made of to the rest of the continent.
“Our performance in the competition in the past seasons has been nothing to write home about and AshGold will change that,” Bashir Hayford said.
“For now, what we (AshGold) have to do is prepare for Africa because that is the status we have to lift ourselves to.”
AshGold won the just ended 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Bank Premier League title with 52 points from possible 90.
