Ashgold to boycott GHALCA competitions until further notice

The management of Ashanti Gold FC says the Miners won’t participate in any competition to be organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), until further notice.

Instead of the usual top-4 GHALCA will for the first time organize a top-6 among top flight league clubs that finished the season within the top-6. There are also reports that the competition will be by invitation.

However, Ashgold the winners of the 2014 campaign have come out that they won’t feature in the competition due to GHALCA’s decision to replace them with Kotoko as one of the two participants in the 2015 President’s Cup.

“We are not playing in the top 6 or top 8, or whatever name they will call it. We believe GHALCA disrespected us by replacing us with Kotoko, after we had made all the necessary arrangement to face Hearts.

“As management we have decided not to participate in all GHALCA organized competitions, until further notice,” Kofi Yawson, the Public Relations Manager of the club told Hot FM.
