Ghana champions Ashantigold have terminated the contracts of four first team players ahead of the 2015-16 season.
They include striker Osman Bashiru, defender Ransford Kwakye, goalkeeper Nana Bonsu and midfielder Kennedy Appiah after several meetings between the club’s top hierarchy and technical team.
Bashiru is reported to have fallen out with some staff members while Kwakye, Bonsu and Appiah were released due to poor output.
However, Bashiru insists that he holds no grudges against the technical team after his axing, and says he’ll announce his next move before the new season.
“It’s true my contract has been terminated. I thank the club for whatever help they rendered to me to make my one year stay a success,” Bashiru told Goal.
“A lot happened but life still goes on and I hold nothing against anyone. Man must aim for the best in life. I will still pursue my career with no hatred and very soon, I will announce my next move,” he added.
Ashantigold have signed Dauda Mohammed, Nuhu Fuseinu, Alhassan Nuhu, Prince Amoah and Hudu Yakubu. They have also renewed the contracts of goalkeepers Fatau Dauda and Robert Dabou.
The Miners are Ghana’s sole representatives in the upcoming Caf Champions League and will lock horns with Algerian side MO Bejaia in the preliminary round.
