Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Kpando Heart of Lions drew 1-1 in their interclub friendly match played at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Parading almost their regular faces, both teams did not take the match lightly as they made their intensions known right from the blast of the referee’s whistle.
Several goal scoring chances were missed by both teams in the first 20 minutes of the game, which received a reasonable amount of spectatorship, especially from the fans of Kotoko who thronged the Accra sports stadium in their droves.
Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure broke the deadlock in the 35th minute to send the supporters of the Porcupine Warriors in ecstasy.
After the goal both teams failed to make any meaningful impact into the game till the end of the half.
Back from recess, Head coach of Heart of Lions made a few changes to his team, an action that yielded the required dividends as Kwame Awuah eventually drilled home the equalizer.
Both teams did all they could to grab the winner but good defensive showing on the part of both sets of defenders proved enough to end the game 1-1.
