Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder, Michael Akuffo has confirmed that he will be joining Lebanese side, Al Ansar on a three year.
The former Fetteh Feyernood [now WAFA] midfielder didn’t travel back to Kumasi with Asante Kotoko team after their last Sunday 2-1 victory over Hearts of Oak in Accra.
Akuffo left the shores of Ghana on Monday to Lebanon to begin his new adventure with his new found club, Al Ansar and he is expected to sign a three year deal on Tuesday [Today] worth $250, 0000.
However, the outgoing former Kotoko captain, Michael Akuffo in an exclusive interview with Allsports.com.gh confirmed that he has agreed a three year deal with Al Ansar and he will formalized his deal on Tuesday [Today].
“I have agreed a three year deal with Al Ansar and I will finalize the move on Tuesday, they are a big club in Lebanon and I’m happy I will be joining them because Kotoko have reached an agreement with them before I left Ghana.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank my fans, the management of Kotoko and the club fans for their support since joining the club four seasons ago and I will never forget their love for me,” Michael Akuffo said.
In Akuffo’s four years stint with the Porcupine Warriors he captained the Kumasi based club to win the Ghana premier league back to back [2012/13 and 2013/14] and added the FA Cup last season.
