Asante Kotoko happy with first round fixtures

Defending league champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko say they are happy with the first round fixtures of the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus League.
According to the fixtures released by the Ghana Football Association early this week, Kotoko will not travel down south in the first round of the competition.
All of Kotoko’s 15 games will be played in the northern sector of the country. There will be eight home matches for Kotoko in the first round and seven away games which will be in three regions, namely, the Brong Ahafo, Upper West and Ashanti.
That simply means the fabulous lads will not have a league game in Accra in the first round.
The first ‘el-classico’ between Hearts and Kotoko will come off in Kumasi on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
“The fixtures are out and I must say we are content with our first round matches. But we need to take one match at a time like we did last season, and I believe we will retain the trophy”, assistant coach Michael Osei mentioned. The first round of the competition is expected to end on April 29, 2015.
