Asamoah rubbishes Juventus exit rumours

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has rejected claims that he could be exchanging the Italian Serie A for the English Premier League in the summer.

The playmaker has been linked to a host of English clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United.

Following reports that former Juventus manager Antonio Conte could be replacing under-fire Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, Asamoah emerged among the Italian’s top targets if he lands the Red Devils job.

“Honestly, I don’t have any team in mind now all because of my injuries,” Asamoah told Metro TV.

“I’m currently focusing on my recovery and getting more playing time. I’ve been with this team for a long time and I’m so happy and they’ve been supportive – players, management and everyone.

“They do everything that they ought to do for me and I’ll always love to be with them. They are so amazing. If I have to say all the things that they’ve done for me, I wouldn’t finish.

“The possibility of me changing clubs in the summer will be difficult. For now, there’s nothing on the table. But I’m a footballer and I do what I have to do on the field. The rest is for my agent. I honestly haven’t thought of leaving now.”

Asamoah joined Juventus in 2012 from Udinese, but has made just five league appearances for the Old Lady since November 2014 due to a series of recurrent injuries.

However, the playmaker is back from the treatment room and saw 90 minutes of action as Juventus handed Udinese a 4-0 trashing on Sunday.
