Wa All Stars striker Richard Arthur has rejected comparisons with AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, insisting he’s not a ‘bad boy’ as opposed to public opinion.
Arthur, 21, begun the new Ghana Premier League season in a flamboyant style, scoring one goal and assisting two as All Stars hammered Sekondi Hasaacas 3-0 last weekend.
However, he insists he hasn’t courted controversies on and off the pitch to merit the ‘Balotelli tag.’
“I don’t recognise myself as someone who has such behaviour like Mario Balotelli,” Arthur told Kyzz FM.
“We are different personalities with different characters. I am Richard and he is Balotelli and I don’t think there are any similarities.
“I live a normal life in spite of the rumours circulating about me. I’m a fine gentleman.”
Arthur also revealed that he’s eyeing the top scorer award by the end of the campaign.
“I want to put up my best performance in every game and at least score a goal too. It’s my dream that by the end of the season, I will emerge as the goal king [to succeed Kofi Owusu],”
All Stars, after their opening day victory, will lock horns with Aduana Stars on Match day two at the Agyeman Badu Stadium in Dormaa Ahenkora.
