Inter Allies new manager Jimmy Corbblah, who replaced Herbert Addo a fortnight ago, was elated with his debut win against Berekum Chelsea in matchday 14 of Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
Frederick Boateng’s brace, which was sandwiched by Edward Adjaglo’s second-half strike, handed the Tema-based club their first win in six games despite a late consolation from Saddick Adams for the visitors.
Corbblah believes his players will only get better as the season progresses.
“We needed to win this game and we did just that. It has released the pressure on us but I think I need to build on this performance to record good results in our subsequent matches,” Corbblah said.
“At this point in time, the league becomes tougher so you need to take advantage of your home matches. But personally, I am very excited with this victory and the way my boys played today.”
Allies, after their win, have moved one place up to sit 14th on the log with 14 points. They will travel to Sekondi next weekend to lock horns with Hasaacas.
