Massimiliano Allegri declared himself “happy” with Juventus’ “impressive” 4-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.
First-half goals from Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain set Juve on their way before Paulo Dybala and Dani Alves scored in the second half to complete a good night’s work for the Italian side.
“It was important to get our first win in the Champions League this season,” he Juve boss told the club’s official website. “I’m happy with the win and the impressive result, as well as our approach to the game.”
Allegri admits it wasn’t the perfect performance and would like to see his side make fewer “technical errors”.
“It was a good match from us, but there were still a few too many technical errors,” admitted Allegri. “We had to get involved in too many tackles in the second half, which shows that we weren’t passing the ball well enough.
“We need to keep working on our game. We want to improve it and cut the mistakes down as much as we can. Nobody is going to be giving anything away, so we can’t take any matches for granted.
“We can still get better in terms of our play and the understanding between the players. After all, the wins are all the sweeter when you have to work for them, so let’s keep working hard.”
The Italian coach now aims to build on another win with victory in their next Serie A match against Empoli.
“We want to round this run of games off in positive fashion. Empoli are in good form, despite having lost their last game, plus the match kicks off at an awkward time. We need to be on our guard.”
