Despite Friday’s disappointing draw with Fiorentina, the coach believes his side can beat the Spanish champions by two or more goals to win Group A
Massimiliano Allegri is confident his Juventus side can get the victory they need over Atletico Madrid to finish top of Champions League Group A.
If the Serie A champions avoid defeat, it will be enough to secure a place in the last 16 of the competition regardless of the result picked up by Olympiakos, who are just three points behind, in the other game.
However, if they beat the current group leaders and Spanish champions by a margin of two goals or more, they will take over as group leaders.
And despite an underwhelming performance in Friday’s 0-0 draw with Fiorentina, Allegri is confident his side will do what is required to leapfrog Diego Simeone’s men.
“We were not very good technically against Fiorentina which is unusual for us,” the coach said after the meeting with Vincenzo Montella’s side.
“But I have good feelings for Tuesday. We must try to win 2-0 to finish first in the group.
“We did not have many chances on Friday because there were two or three situations where we made the wrong decision at the last step, but we did have a fantastic second-half.”
