Founder and President of Kumasi based King Faisal Football club, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah has endorsed the appointment of Avram Grant as the head coach of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the announcement yesterday.
The FA had already hinted that Avram Grant shot ahead of the other candidates for the position after he emerged favourite during his interview session. The announcement was finally made yesterday at a press conference organized by the Ghana FA to announce the appointment among other things.
Reacting to the news, Alhaji Grusah, in an exclusive interview with sportscrusader.com said, “I often heard people asking whether he could do the job even before his appointment. But what I also keep asking is, why can’t he handle the Black Stars? He is a good coach based on his track record but we all need to support and pray for him to be lucky and succeed”.
“His CV shows that he is a good coach and has great magnitude of experience. The only thing he must do is to instil discipline into the team. He is obviously the best choice for Ghana now”, Alhaji added.
Alhaji Grusah, who has currently taken the GFA to court over his petition which was overlooked by the Disciplinary and Appeals Committees of the FA declined talking about the league but was quick to say the new league to be introduced will be the best for our clubs but there must be transparency.
